This path focuses on tables that other people can understand and maintain. Learners practise consistent columns, basic formulas, sorting, filtering, references and simple checks that reduce avoidable errors.
Exercises include repairing a poorly structured sheet, distinguishing labels from values, comparing relative and absolute references and creating a small summary without hiding the source data.
Typical format: five modules, practice workbooks and short review tasks. Useful prior knowledge: basic computer use and familiarity with typing values into a spreadsheet.
Clean & Prepare Everyday Data
Learners work with realistic small datasets containing mixed formats, missing fields, duplicate records and inconsistent categories. The goal is to make the data reliable enough for simple analysis.
The path introduces a repeatable checking sequence: understand the fields, inspect unusual values, standardize formats, document changes and preserve a clean copy.
Independent practice uses compact files so the learner can focus on reasoning rather than volume.
Basic Analysis & Interpretation
This path covers simple counts, percentages, differences, grouped summaries and comparisons. The emphasis is on interpreting the result and checking whether the calculation answers the original question.
Exercises ask learners to compare categories, identify an unusual change and explain a result in plain language without overstating what the data proves.
No advanced statistics are required.
Charts & Simple Dashboards
Learners compare chart types, remove unnecessary visual clutter and decide which measures belong together. Later activities combine several simple visuals into a compact dashboard.
The path treats a dashboard as a way to answer a defined question, not as a collection of decorative charts.
Practice includes redesigning an overloaded dashboard and explaining why each remaining visual deserves space.
